A ramble in the polar night

A short walking trip with torches through the magnificent landscape in Reisadalen, concluding with an explanation of myths and legends around the campfire. There is a chance of fantastic views of the Northern Lights if the weather is on our side.

how to get there:

Ovi Raishiin, the Reisadalen Visitor Point, is located in Saraelv. From Storslett, follow the secondary road FV 865 for 46 km to the turning space in Saraelv. Then continue about 800 m from the turning space along the gravel track. Follow the signs to Ovi Raishiin.

what to you get? 

We walk together from Ovi Raishiin to the campfire area, off the beaten track. We will experience the natural surroundings as they appeared to our forefathers – before artificial light, flush toilets and tarmac roads. 
Along the way and beside the campfire we will share tales about the landscape, the people who lived here before us, and local myths and legends.  
Hot drinks will be served.

Max 15 people. Minimum price NOK 1200.


Start from Ovi Raishiin. Length: 300–500 m. Not too physically demanding, but you should expect to wade through the snow along a well-trodden path.
Warm clothes and shoes suitable for snow are required.
Parking at Ovi Raishiin, or alternatively at the turning area in Saraelv if there is a lot of snow.
